The Traveler's Principles

Singapore, March 2014
Every person ought to live by a set of principles and beliefs which shape and define him to the type of person he grows up with for the rest of his life. There are those principles that affect your family and friends, your god, your country, and most importantly yourself.

Do you have any idea what a life with no principles feels like? If you are one of those people, then you can explain them better. A messed up life with nothing to live for?

In work, in school, in family and relationships, in finances, we all have a unique set of principles which we live and stand by. In travel, I believe we also have a luggage full of principles which we ought to carry along with so that travel would be safe, sound, and fun.

Your unique set of travel principles can get you anywhere you want to go without having to worry. They may eventually keep you in check with what to do and what not to do on your journeys.

While I may not have traveled that much yet in my 24 year young life, I have kept with me these principles which have helped me and my companions along in the path of exploration and profound discovery of the world outside our homes.

What other travel principle/s do you believe in? Hope you remember to pack them with you on your next journey.

Note: This post was inspired on one of the books I am currently reading on - The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. While he made little mention about travel, but to no surprise, the principles outlined in his book can be applied in travel as well. A definite must-read for those seeking success in every area of their lives.
